Aria Alba – Opera for All are staging Carmen at Edinburgh Fringe 2024.
We are a self-funded community group offering a platform for developing singers to build their repertoire in a safe and inclusive environment.
Roles are cast from within the company first, but the following roles are currently open to applicants:
Don Jose
Remendado
Dancaïre
Morales
Chorus
The production will be performed on 3-4 August (Outreach performances) and 14-17 August at Edinburgh Fringe.
Principal singers are guaranteed 2 performances during this time.
We are hoping to work with an orchestra for the 4 fringe performances, but this is tbc.
Ideally we would like to work with singers local to Edinburgh who can attend Monday rehearsals on a regular basis, but applicants from further afield will also be considered on a case by case basis.
Singers will attend Aria Alba’s residential rehearsal week in Ardentinny (Scotland) from 1-7 July 2024 for which food and accomodation costs will be incurred by the singer. There is no fee payable to singers for their participation in the production.
